Creating something special needs a lot of skills. It is not important if you are drawing, composing, writing a book playing football or leading a team. If you want to create something extraordinary you need more than special skills, you also have to do it from the bottom of your HEART.
Leading teams and thriving them to new levels means to do something special.
1. LISTEN with your HEART and UNDERSTAND
You have to understand what your team needs and where they stand. To hear the real needs, you have to listen with your ears, asking the right questions and acting with your heart. First of all you have to be open-minded and accepting all the questions, issues and fears. You should ask every single person about them - you will not capable to answer all inputs which care mentioned, but to hear them is the first step to get a better understanding and therefore performance. In addition to be open-minded you have to be open-hearted!
2. DISCUSS, WORKOUT and ACT AS A LEADER
Second you have to work with every single person and with the whole team on the most important problems. If you act as a real leader you will work out solutions with your team instead of presenting them a fixed plan. And to get the best results you need the right setup or ruleset (meeting room, right time, no mobiles,... ), the capability of every single person to engage in the process and your HEART. The best results come from inside.
3. Be PATIENT and PERSISTENT
After defining actions - by the way only a few ones a time, otherwise you will confuse all - your team will try to setup the new actions and rules. But be patient, not every action will work from the beginning. To create something special you have to readapt the actions a lot times. Therefore you have to be persistent and persistent and persistent. Changing things means being persistent. Sounds like a contradiction but is true. Some things will work, others have to be changed a lot of times. Hear at your team and let them react most times on their own. Let them propose new ways. You are the leader but they have to execute, so in most cases they know what it is good for them. If you challenge them with your HEART you will earn a lot of good ideas and the best solutions. Enable a dynamic setup where your team thrives to new levels.
If you are acting deep from your heart, your team will respect you, discuss with you, fight for you and will WIN a lot.
The best solutions are based on skill and HEART!
